brazil
ChildHope provided supplementary support for veteran missionaries John and Joy Roth, who have served in Brazil for 53 years. They live in Lagoa Santa and are still active in ministries of helps and mercies.
congo
ChildHope supported the Intsheum Protestant Orphanage and medical dispensary near Idiofa, which have been in continuous operation since 1939. Presently, 49 children reside in the orphanage and 80 others, living elsewhere, receive daily meals, clothing, medical care, and schooling. Older children are sent to trade school or university.
el salvador
ChildHope contributed toward operating expenses of Shalom Children’s Home in Santo Tomas. It is operated by missionaries Don and Rose Ann Benner. At present 70 orphaned boys and girls are cared for, ranging in age from newborns to 18. They receive food, shelter, clothing, medical care, education, and life skills training in a loving environment. The orphanage is affiliated with AMILAT Christian school, kindergarten through 12th grade, with 380 students currently enrolled.
haiti
ChildHope shipped a 40-ft sea container filled with building materials to Missionaries of the Poor in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to benefit families impacted by the 7.0-magnitude earthquake of January 12, 2010. The shipment had a total fair market value of $359,760.
kenya
ChildHope made grants to missionary Dr. Paul Mutinda of Nairobi, Kenya. Dr. Mutinda is a professor at Daystar University as well as pastor of Africa Inland Church Komarock. He and his wife Meg head a childcare ministry in several churches and schools.
mexico
ChildHope supported the ministry of Casa Hogar Douglas, a Christian orphanage in Cuernavaca operated by Israel Lerma. Presently, 40 homeless boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 18 are lovingly cared for, receiving food, clothing, shelter, medical care, and a basic education.
ChildHope provided funding to missionaries Wayne and Claire Wagner. They founded and manage God Will Provide Daycare in Maneadero, Baja California, just south of Ensenada. Thirty girls and boys are in their care every workday.
District of Columbia
ChildHope supported the ministries of Theresa Mullen, who for 22 years has served the needs of children in the Washington DC inner-city housing projects through Kids’ Konnection. Every week about 1,000 boys and girls attend “Sidewalk Sunday School” when the big KK truck pulls in with games, lessons, songs, puppet shows, and treats. During the summer, 17 vacation Bible schools were held at various locations with an average daily attendance of 175 children. Last August, 20 children attended summer camp. In September, 1,000 packs of school supplies were distributed.
